About Life By Music

Life By Music (LBM) is a 501c3 non-profit organization based out of Las Vegas, Nevada. We are a collective of artists who are committed to creating positive change through customized music education programs, instrument donations and music scholarships for kids, teens and veterans.

We believe in the transformative power of music to help make this world a better place. We work with at-risk schools, foster homes, after-care programs and veterans’ groups, to facilitate supportive and enriching environments that instill life skills through music and the arts.

Help us build a future where music is a beacon of hope, and music resources are readily available, for at-risk youth, veterans and those in need. Together we can make a difference.

One Note at a Time..

The Inception of LBM

“Life By Music” started as a motto – something we’d say as we chased our dreams of becoming professional recording artists. As we achieved those dreams, we quickly realized we wanted to do more with our music.

We wanted our art to do some good for humanity, so we devised a plan – work with the youth, and show them how music and the arts can be used as tools for self-expression, collaboration and empowerment.

The first LBM event was in 2016, before an acoustic show in Club Madrid at Sunset Station, where we hosted 12 kids from a nearby Boys & Girls Club. The kids got a feel for what being a musician is like. They played guitar, painted instruments and walked around our stage area, and then we all ate together at the buffet.

And, just like that, Life By Music was born. That same year, our motto was solidified as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Who's behind LBM?

Life By Music (LBM) was established by brothers Adrian and Ryan Patrick, who are the lead singer and guitarist, of alternative hard rock band OTHERWISE.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, the brothers have garnered over 250 million streams worldwide and have secured multiple record deals. They have spent the past decade touring North America, while slowly building Life By Music by providing outreach on the road.

Today, along with their team of artists and supportive Board of Directors, they are committed to giving back to their community through the Life By Music initiative.

What we've accomplished so far

Since that first event in 2016, we’ve slowly built and expanded our organization. We’ve donated instruments, scholarships and have hosted music education programs all-round the United States.

Music And The Arts SCholarships

So far we’ve provided over $13,000 in scholarship funds for kids, teens and other school programs in need of music education resources.

Music Education Programs

Depending on the specific needs of each location, we offer hands-on experiences and supply resources to support music education throughout the country.

Here are the programs we’ve established so far:

Guitar Magic

As we started visiting more schools and youth centers – we wanted to create something to give the kids that not only taught them about music, but also inspired them to be strong and caring human beings.

This is how Guitar Magic was born. Our first official program for kids in kindergarten through 4th grade.

As of today, we’ve given Guitar Magic Experiences to over 300 kids all over the country.

Rockin’ Guitar for Teens

A unique music education program designed specifically for teens aged 13-18. We crafted a program that blends guitar lessons with personal development activities, making learning both impactful and enjoyable for teens.

During the school year, Life By Music currently provides weekly music classes for teens at:

  • Mission High School
  • Just One Project
  • Boys & Girls Clubs

Summer Camps

Shoulder to Shoulder Music Program for Veterans

This is an introduction to music and guitar class for veterans who want to learn how to jam and express themselves through songwriting.

This course is designed to focus on the “art of the jam,” so each week veterans play along with popular songs and learn mindfulness practices to help facilitate the flow of their creative expression through playing music.

Instrument Donations

A significant part of Life By Music’s mission is to provide instruments to schools and youth centers, ensuring that children everywhere have access to instruments and musical resources. With the help of Gibson Gives, and other organizations we’ve donated instruments to schools and youth programs in Las Vegas, California, Colorado and New York.

So far we’ve donated:

over 300 Guitars

10 Keyboards

50 other miscellaneous instruments (violins, djembes, ukuleles, etc)

Annual Fundraiser

We’ve hosted our 2-day fundraiser four years in a row. Each year this event gets bigger as we create awareness and raise money for music education and resources.

We are grateful for the continued support from our community.
