On September 26th, Life By Music proudly helped kick off the 52nd Annual Greek Food Festival in Las Vegas with a torch relay unlike any other.
What is the Greek Food Festival?
The Greek Food Festival, hosted each year at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, has been a Las Vegas tradition for more than five decades. Now in its 52nd year, it continues to bring the community together with authentic food, music, dance, and culture, celebrating heritage while creating lasting memories for locals and visitors alike.
About the Torch Relay
The festival begins each year with a symbolic torch relay, a 26.2 mile marathon across northwest Las Vegas. This moving celebration honors community, unity, and tradition.
This year, the relay was escorted by a search & rescue truck, LVMPD cruisers, two limos, and a giant video wall truck, creating an unforgettable procession that was seen by an estimated 40,000+ people before arriving at St. John the Baptist Church.
Life By Music’s Role
Life By Music joined the relay to raise awareness for our mission of empowering people through music. Our Shoulder to Shoulder veterans proudly walked their mile along Charleston Avenue, holding the torch high.
One moment summed up the spirit of the day:
As the veterans walked, a man called out, “What are you protesting?”
Our founder Ryan replied with a smile: “We’re not protesting, WE’RE CELEBRATING!”
And celebrate we did! Together, we raised over $10,000 for Life By Music. These funds will directly support our programs including Guitar Magic, Rockin’ Guitar, and Shoulder to Shoulder, ensuring we can donate instruments and expand music education opportunities across Clark County.
